GLORIOUS GRACE

Sue O’Donnell. 04.03.21

“We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2 v 10 NLT)

United with the Lord Jesus,

This is true life to us,

A life of promised fullness.

Sharing in His holiness

Offers such joy to us.

For it is true that

It is more blessed to give

Than it is to receive.

Believe therefore in our Brother,

That He is our Saviour,

As sent by our Father

For good works of holy charity.

“Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things; but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.” (Romans 8 v 5 NLT)

Love achieves a great deal.

Love accomplishes much.

For true love is about self-giving,

Living for the benefit of others.

It is by love we discover

The Lord Jesus is alive in us,

By means of the Holy Spirit,

He who builds up our faith.

Faith is active not passive.

Faith is the love of the Lord Jesus,

Put into daily active service.

We become His co-workers

By the grace of salvation,

Love’s recommendation put into action.

“So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.” (Ephesians 1 v 6 NLT)

“He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins. He has showered kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” (Ephesians 1 v 7, 8 NLT)

Let us pray with thanksgiving for the fact that “Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2 v 9 NLT)

Let us pray with gratitude that our rescue from satan is a free gift of God’s grace.

Let us pray to acknowledge how the Spirit of Christ Jesus, the Father’s own Spirit, the Spirit of love, makes such a real difference to love’s outreach and success.

Let us pray to acknowledge the godly, eternal gain of salvation. “Christ lives within us, so even though our body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives us life because we have been made right with God.” (Romans 8 v 1 NLT)

Let us pray to spend Lent ensuring we are made right, by making extra effort to repent of failure and develop a fresh resolve to do better in the future.

Let us pray to ensure the promise of our eternal home in heaven, all thanks to the sacrificial death of Christ Jesus, gaining pardon for all sinfulness.

Let us pray with appreciative understanding, a firm belief that “Just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to our mortal bodies by His same Spirit (as lives within Christ Jesus) living in us.” (based on Romans 8 v 11 NLT)

Let us pray joyously for all the blessings of the Almighty Trinity, ever hard at work for us to experience hope, peace and joy as Their love is shared amongst us, maintaining Christ Jesus’ Kingdom of heaven upon earth.

Let us pray for the mystery of salvation requires worldwide acknowledgement and acclaim. “For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son could be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” (Romans 8 v 29 NLT)

Let us pray to share the glory, for “Having given us right standing, He gave us His glory” (based on Romans 8 v 30 NLT) the glory of Christ Jesus living within us, active by His Holy Spirit.

Let us pray to broadcast the fact that the Spirit of Christ as sent by the Father, is the Spirit of love who gifts new life to us following the atonement Christ Jesus made on our behalf at the †.

Let us pray to fix our eyes on Jesus, “The champion who imitates and perfects our faith.” (Hebrews 12 v 2 NLT)

Let us pray to always be alert and responsive to the Spirit of Christ Jesus, the Spirit of truth, correcting, guiding and safeguarding us as He “Dwells with us and will be in us.” (based on John 14 v 17)

Let us pray to keep the vision of heaven uppermost “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” (2 Corinthians 4 v 18 NLT)

Let us pray with rejoicing that heaven is made possible because we have a Brother who, as He has had a perfectly holy life and offered up Himself sacrificially to death, we have a Saviour Redeemer, a Healer.

Let us pray to offer all thanks for the healing love, which is such a glorious grace. Amen
